I have practiced at the intersection of internal medicine and functional medicine for more than twenty years. I still see patients. I still run Absolute Health, an insurance-based primary care practice that integrates conventional and functional medicine. I was in the first cohort certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine, and I now teach for IFM in the Cardiometabolic and Hormone Advanced Practice Modules and in Advanced Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice. I also serve as Medical Director of HumanN, Functional Medicine Director at The Guest House Ocala, and a consultant to the Quest Diagnostics wellness division.
And for a long time, I was the only one in my building who worked this way.
